Hocking Hills State Park doesn't have restaurants inside the park, and cell service is spotty at best, so figuring out where to eat requires some advance planning. The good news: the dining scene in and around Logan, Nelsonville, and the broader Hocking Hills region has grown well beyond fast food and gas station snacks. Here's what's worth your time.

Note: Restaurant hours, menus, and ownership can change. We recommend calling ahead or checking online before making a special trip, especially for dinner reservations and seasonal closures. This guide reflects information verified as of spring 2026.

Fine Dining & Special Occasions

Kindred Spirits at the Inn & Spa at Cedar Falls is the most sought-after dinner reservation in the region. Set in original 1840s log cabins on the inn's property, it seats just 45 people and offers a casual fine-dining experience with gourmet dishes made from locally sourced ingredients. Lunch is also available. Reservations are strongly recommended.

Glenlaurel's Manor House Dining Room serves multi-course candlelit dinners that many guests describe as the highlight of their trip. This is part of the Scottish inn experience and is typically reserved for lodge guests, but availability may exist — call ahead.

Restaurant Salaam in Athens (about 30 minutes from the park) offers fine world cuisine in an eclectic atmosphere — Middle Eastern, Mediterranean, and Balkan dishes. Open Wednesday through Saturday for dinner.

Casual Dining & Local Favorites

58 West in downtown Logan is the most versatile spot in town — a full-service restaurant, winery, brewery, and distillery under one roof. Casual but elevated food with an extensive list of locally crafted beverages, many produced on-site. Great for couples, families, and groups who can't agree on what they want.

The Feed in Logan has become a legitimate local staple. Daily specials, craft burgers, pizza, wings, and a menu that handles different moods at the same table. Works as a lunch reset after a morning trail or a no-fuss dinner when everyone's tired.

Millstone Southern Smoked BBQ has earned a following for its smoked meats and outdoor patio. Pet-friendly outdoor seating makes it a good option if you've got your dog along.

Hungry Buffalo offers American casual dining with patio seating — burgers, comfort food, and a laid-back vibe that works after a day on the trails.

Jack's Steak House has been a local favorite for over 40 years, known for cutting their own steaks. Check seasonal hours — they close for part of winter.

Breakfast & Coffee

Hocking Hills Coffee Emporium is a woman-owned operation serving premium locally roasted coffee alongside breakfast and lunch. It doubles as a vintage souvenir shop. Located near the park entrance, it's the natural first stop before a morning hike.

Hocking Hills Diner on E. Front Street in Logan serves breakfast all day — omelets, breakfast bowls, and sourdough toast that regulars rave about. Large menu for a diner, with daily specials. Can have a wait on weekends; they offer an online waitlist.

Hocking Hills Bagel Company is a solid morning stop for grab-and-go fuel before hitting the trails.

Pizza & Quick Bites

Little Italy Pizza in Nelsonville has been serving pizza, wings, subs, and burgers since they opened and is the go-to for pizza delivery to cabins in the area.

Pizza Crossing in downtown Logan is a practical option for the night when everyone's muddy and tired and nobody wants a production. Dine-in, carryout, and delivery.

Papa Dino's Pizzeria is another solid Logan pizza option.

BBQ & Smoked Meats

Starbrick BBQ is next door to the Rocky Outlet in Nelsonville — convenient if you're catching the scenic railway. A newer Nelsonville establishment that started as a food truck in 2016 and built a following for consistently flavorful smoked meats with homemade sides, rubs, and sauces.

Bob's Backyard Barbecue aims for an extraordinary dining experience through quality — worth seeking out if BBQ is your thing.

International & Mexican

La Cascada is a locally owned authentic Mexican restaurant in Logan known for daring, hot food and vibrant decorations. A good change of pace from the burger-and-BBQ circuit.

Maya Burrito has outdoor patio seating and serves as a quick, flavorful option near the park area.

Voltolini's brings inventive Italian to Logan — a newer addition to the dining scene offering a vibrant array of Italian dishes.

At the Lodge

The Hocking Hills State Park Lodge has three on-site dining options: Rock House Restaurant (dinner reservations required, locally inspired menu with park views), Café '22 (grab-and-go coffee, snacks, and ice cream), and Rock House Pub (drinks by the fireplace with scenic views). It's the only dining option actually inside the park area.

Wineries & Breweries with Food

Hocking Hills Winery serves wood-fired pizza alongside wine tastings on their patio — live entertainment on weekends during warmer months. Brewery 33 has a brewpub-style kitchen with sandwiches and appetizers in their beer garden. Both are covered in more detail in our other guides.

Pro tip: Pack a cooler for your cabin. Many rentals have full kitchens, and the Walmart in Logan can stock you up for breakfasts and trail lunches. Save restaurant meals for dinner when you've cleaned up and want to sit down properly.
